About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

I am confused if I need a Chinese Visa. Please help me.

Hello,

I am really confused about my upcoming cruise, because the travel agency I visited told me that I need a Chinese Visa for my cruise. I called the cruise line, Holland America, but they do not know if I need a Visa. I read online that there is a 72-hour Visa exemption for Beijing and I know that there is a 144-hour exemption and a 15-day exemption for Shanghai. But I do not know if I meet the requirements for any of the exemptions. I am also unsure if I need Visas for Qingdao, China and Dalian, China.
I hold a United States passport and I plan on flying from the United States to a different Asian country and then traveling from there to Hong Kong. From Hong Kong, I will catch a flight to SH for my cruise. I also plan on staying one more night in a SH hotel after the cruise, then fly from SH back to the United States.

Here is my cruise schedule:
Day 1 - SH, China
Day 2 - SH, China
Day 3 - At Sea
Day 4 - Qingdao, China
Day 5 - At Sea
Day 6 - Beijing (Tianjin), China
Day 7 - Beijing (Tianjin), China
Day 8 - Dalian, China
Day 9 - At Sea
Day 10 - Fukuoka, Japan
Day 11 - Pusan, South Korea
Day 12 - Cheju Do, South Korea
Day 13 - Nagasaki, Japan
Day 14 - At Sea
Day 15 - SH, China

So, my question is: Do I need Chinese Visas for my family of 3 or do I meet the requirements for any of the exemptions?

Thank you in advance,
Fa

It needs a visa since the boat visits multiple transit areas this limited to 24 hours total in mainland China. The Cruise ship exemption only works if you arrive in Shanghai by boat, join tour and leave China on the same boat.
