Tourist Visa for Husband

I have accepted a teaching job and have all of my paperwork ready for myself and my two sons, but there is a hold up with my husband’s passport. We are traveling in less than a month. Could he get a tourist visa on his own and then apply for a dependent visa once we’re there? How long does it take to get a tourist visa and would we need a letter of invitation from my school since we will have one-way tickets?

Sarah, the process usually takes around 4 working days. Your husband is advised to apply for S type as he may not obtain dependent visa in China and needs to apply outside China.
