About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

US Citizen on an L VIsa 60 Day duration

My adopted Chinese daughter is staying with her foster family in Chongqing. She has the above Visa and wants to stay longer. Is there a way to get an extension of a stay as she is Chinese but with a US Passport? Or does she need to leave Mainland China (day trip to HKG?) to reset the 60 days? Is there someone I can call in the states or is there someone she can contact in Liangping? Thanks

Dear, she can extend her L type at Chongqing Public Security Bureau with no need of leaving mainland China.

Day trip is always better than an extension which may void her 10-year visa in some regions. Chinese consulates/embassies in the US almost never answer their phones but your daughter can contact the local Exit and Entry Administration. Her foster parents should know where it is (same place where they apply for Chinese passports).
