About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Malaysian have transit 15 hour in Shanghai

I will be traveling to USA transit Shanghai PVG for 15 hours. Can i apply for 24hour visa when i arrive? or i need to do it in Malaysia?

If Shanghai is your only stop within mainland China, you are definitely qualified for 24 hours visa free transit in Shanghai. Actually, you will never apply for this because this is 24 hours visa free transit, so no visa at all. You will apply, of course, for 24 hours free entry permit upon your landing in Shanghai to be allowed to exit the airport. You will present your onward ticket for US and accommodation booking in case that your layover is during the night hours. Your chances to be granted entry permit are good, but you should always keep in mind that the issuing of entry permit is always upon discretion of immigration authorities!
