About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

USA/Shanghai/Hong Kong/Shanghai/USA

Does a trip from USA to Shanghai, Shanghai to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Shanghai, Shanghai to USA allow me to use the visa free 144 hours twice?
We would be returning to Shanghai on day 6 in Hong Kong.

Of course. If those are all your stops within the itinerary you are definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai twice. You should take care that your flights to and from Shanghai don't have any additional landing within mainland China!
