Dear, you can enjoy 144h visa exemption transit for your itinerary of UK-Beijing-Hong Kong. While, for your itinerary of Thailand- Xi'an-Beijing-UK, you are required to obtain a transit visa. Therefore, you need to apply for a single entry transit visa in advance.
