About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

No hotel booking

Hello, my wife lives in China (with regular working permit) and I've been also living and working there for almost 2 years. Next time I will visit her, I wanted to apply for the 144h Visa, but I won't be staying in any hotel, I will sleep in her apartment. Could this be a problem?

Of course, not. You will just have to declare that fact upon your landing in China, presenting your wife's identity and her address. After that you will be allowed to leave the airport and stay in the country, but you will have to register yourself, accompanied with your wife, at the Public security bureau (PSB).
