About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Visit Aluminium Fairs 10-12.07

Hi
I need to visit a Shanghai (09.07-12.07) but no chance to get standard entry visa before.
Is such a trip acceptable for receiving 144h transit visa free entry:
Start in Poland GDA-Frankfurt-Shanghai,
After 144h transit : SH —Vienna-Frankfurt-GDA
Please advise
Thank You
Krzysztof

Thanks ZUPAN. One more:
I heard that Europe is treated as same destination (region) so recommend trip is Germany -SH-(I.e)Hong Kong - Austria. Is this correct? or it does not matter as soon as start and final country are different. Please advice
Thank You

Krzysztof, your proposed itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai. Everything that interests Chinese authorities is this portion of your itinerary:

Frankfurt - Shanghai - Vienna

You should have your tickets in hard copy and preferably an accommodation booking also.

Exactly, as Saul has mentioned, the stories of this kind are spread among the travelers as some kind of urban legend, but in reality the Chinese authorities are treating every single European country as a separate country as they in reality are. So, departing from Frankfurt to China and returning from China to Vienna is completely legal and eligible for 144 hours visa free transit.
