You would be allowed to use Futian port because it is eligible, but in reality this is unachievable in reality. The reason is simple... There are no bus options that will allow you to book a ticket between Shenzhen and Hong Kong online in advance, i.e. it's practically impossible to have a bus ticket in your hand at the moment of your check-in in Australia/Kuala Lumpur. You know that it's a must to have all the tickets that will show your transit intention in advance, ready to show even before your arrival in China. Of course, you will have to show these tickets also to Chinese authorities upon landing in Guangzhou.
So, you have the following options:
- From Guangzhou you can take a plane, train or ferry
- From Shenzhen you can take a ferry
Assuming that your intention is to travel from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, then you will book your ferry (in reality a catamaran) ticket through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport company website and you will travel between Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. Please, keep in mind that you have to travel exactly with the ferry that you have bought your ticket for.
