Is Shenzhen [Futian] the same as Futian Checkpoint?

No, Futian Checkpoint is the port for immigration, but a railway station. It is called Lok Ma Chau in HK. Futian Station is a railway station which serve high sped trains. It is about 4km away from the checkpoint, you can consider to use metro or taxi to reach there.0
