About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Paris-Guangzhou-Hongkong-Shanghai-Paris

Will this itinerary (Paris-Guangzhou-Hongkong-Shanghai-Paris) work? Plan to travel from Guangzhou to Hong Kong by train. Is there any restriction about how long one have to stay in HongKong before flying to Shanghai? Thanks.

Just a reminder that you will need your confirmed rail ticket to Hong Kong in your hand when you check in at Paris.

Your itinerary will definitely allow you to enjoy 144 hours visa free transit in mainland China twice. Once in Guangdong province and once in Shanghai area. Of course, I just hope that you have mentioned all your stops. There is no limit that dictates how long you have to stay in Hong Kong. It can be literally just a few hours between your transfer from Hung Hom railway station in Hong Kong to the airport or a month. It's entirely upon your decision and whatever your decision will be, it does not influences your eligibility for 144 hours visa free transit in mainland China.
