About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24-hour transit visa

Hi,

I am an Iranian citizen and I am traveling from Istanbul to Sydney with China Southern Airline. I have two stops in China. My layover time is about 2 to 3 hours in each transit at Wuhan and Guangzhou. I don't intend to leave the airport and I just want to catch my flight to Sydney. Do I still need a 24-hour visa?
If yes, am I legible to get the visa in airport?

Thanks.

NJin, all you have to do is to calculate the entire time and not just your layovers from your first scheduled arrival in China (in your case Wuhan) until your scheduled departure from Guangzhou. If the entire time between two mentioned occurrences is less than 24 hours, you are definitely eligible for 24 hours visa free transit. Please, keep in mind this formulation and it is visa free (without visa) and not 24-hour visa or any kind of any visa. Please, just use correct terminology to avoid any possible misunderstandings. If If I'm right you will be flying CZ8342 to Wuhan, then CZ3345 to Guangzhou and then CZ325 to Sydney. In this case, your entire transit time in China is far shorter than 24 hours. Please, keep in mind that you will have to apply for 24 hours free entry permit in Wuhan because it will be a change from international to domestic flight. You will have to do it quickly because the layover is short. So, have your tickets prepared in hard copy.
