New Zealand - Guangzhou (60hrs) - Vietnam

I have the same question as many people on here but just wanting to double check as it would be a bad outcome if we were denied access =)
Our booking is New zealand to Guangzhou where we will stay for 2 days then fly out of Guangzhou to Vietnam.
Would we be eligable for the 144hr transit without Visa if we stay in Guangzhou?
