About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

When asking for the visa with a domestic stepover ?

Hi !
I'm having an international flight from Ulan-Bator to Beijing, and then a domestic flight from Beijing to Shanghai. I have 7 hours connection flight in Shanghai with airport transfer and planned to go to the city for dinner and small sightseeing.
In which airport do I have to apply for the visa ? Is it possible in Shanghai after a domestic flight ? And then does a 24 hours direct free visa allow me this kind of trip ? My return flight from Shanghai to Paris is at 00:30 in the early morning.
Kind regards,
Greg

It has been perfect. Indeed, transit in Beijing was short. Just enough time to get my flight. Thank you.

You can do the 24 hour transit. Its not a visa so if you use that term it will cause confusion. Its a 24 visa free transit or Transit without visa. You are eligible as long as the time between scheduled arrival in Beijing and schedule departure from Shanghai is under 24 hours.

You will apply for the entry permit when you arrive in Beijing. Since you will be arriving as a domestic passenger you will have no problem leaving the airport in Shanghai. Just be sure to arrive at the airport with enough time to get checked in and go through exit protocols so you don't miss your flight.
