What does including using flight for single trip mean

3. Only use flights to transfer in China. Passengers using other vehicles (including using flight for single trip) are not eligible to enjoy the policy.

This means that to be eligible for 72 hours visa free transit, you can use only flights as a mean of transport and not any other type like sea or overland transport. Anyway, more attractive destinations usually have 144 hours visa free transit where, in number of cases, you can combine flights with trains or sea transport. Now, you have to see whether your planned Chinese destination offers 72 or 144 hours visa free option and you can plan your trip accordingly.
