About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Could I check if I (British passport holder) need a Chinese Visa with the following itinerary:

London > Beijing (24 hours) > Pyongyang > Beijing (48 hours) > London

You are eligible for 144 (24) hours visa free transit in both ways. You don't need any kind of visa. Anyway, you should obtain all the relevant documentation from your tour operator for North Korea where there will be clearly mentioned that you have secured flight (a kind of confirmation or a ticket if possible) for Pyongyang. You should have all your documentation in hard copy. It is also advisable to book your accommodation in Beijing in advance and to have that confirmation in hard copy upon your arrival in Beijing. On more detail, your flights from London to Beijing and from Beijing to London should not have any additional landing in mainland China beside Beijing, of course.

Please, have in mind that this is valid only in case if you plan to travel from Pyongyang to Beijing by plane, because if taking a train, you would need a visa.
