About:China Student Visa

Visa Renewal for Second Year of Study

Hi!

I am flying to HK to get a new Visa to join an additional year of study, this time in Beijing. I have been in Kunming for the last year on a student visa with a residence permit. Do you know if there are any special considerations I should take as a "returning" student?

You can apply in Hong Kong, but you need to submit a copy of your previous study visa, and you must cancel your residence permit in Kunming before applying.

What if my residence permit is expired? Does that count as cancelled? It is up on July 30th.
