applying for 4 visas for family members

I am applying for 4 Chinese visas for family members (myself, wife and two children less than 18 years old). It seems that (1) I need to prepare 4 separate applications forms, two of which are to be signed by parents; and (2) I can submit the application documents on behalf the other family members (that is, they don't have to be present with me). Are (1) and (2) correct? Thanks very much.
