About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Just to be sure can I fly with a 144 Hr Transit

from the United States to Shanghai overnight to catch a cruise ship at a Shanghai port first going to South Korea, then Hong Kong and on to Viet Nam and ending in Australia? I would NOT need a China visa?

It depends on your nationality. If your passport is from one of the 53 qualifying countries, then you won't need a visa if those are your only stops.
