Hi, I’m a British Passport holder based in Ho Chi Minh.

I will travel to Shanghai via HOng Kong and then return to Vietnam. Can I obtain a transit visa on arrival at PVG airport?

Tim, perhaps you mean to use the 144 hour visa-free transit in Shanghai? Since your route is HK-Shanghai-Vietnam, you can use it as long as the layover time is not more 144 hours.
