About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How long can i stay in Shanghai?

I am Canadian and want to fly to Shanghai (from Manila) and then leave on a cruise which later in the week goes to Beijing. Do I have to be out of Shanghai in 72 hours or is this now 144 hours?

If you stop in both Shanghai and Beijing you are limited to 24 hours. You need a visa.

24 hours in China. Longer than that requires a visa.
