About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Is it possible to travel by train outside of the three specified regions on this transit visa ?

I am interested in travelling to Shandong for one day during my 6 days transit visa. However I am assuming that I will not be able to collect my tickets due to my visa not including Shandong.

Shandong is outside of the transit area so you need a visa to travel there from Beijing.
