About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK to Amsterdam to GUANGZHOU (11 hour layover) to Denpasar Bali

Hello,

On June 5th I will be flying from the UK to Amsterdam and then from Amsterdam I fly to Guangzhou and I will have an 11 hour layover, in this layover I would like to explore/sightsee what I can while I am waiting for my flight to Bali - what visa/permit will I need as I am new to this as this is my first time flying to Asia and where can I attain them, thank you.

Actually, you don't need any kind of visa because you are perfectly covered by 24 hours visa free transit. As I can see, you would like to exit the airport and explore the city during your layover. OK, you will apply for an entry permit at the relevant counter and ask them to be allowed to exit the airport. You have to know that entry permit is upon discretion of immigration official, so there is no guarantee that you will be allowed to do that. Usually, a confirmed accommodation booking increases your chances tremendously, so you could think about booking some cheap accommodation before your arrival in Guangzhou to be allowed to enjoy the city for few hours.
