I'm having a Luxembourg Passport booked on the following routing in June:

LUX-MUC-HKG (4 nights in HKG)
HKG-PEK (Tuesday 5pm until Sunday morning 11am, so within the 144hrs rule)
PEK-FRA-LUX
Am I fine using the 144hr Transit visa or should I pay for a real one?

Everything that interests Chinese authorities are these details:

- Hong Kong - Beijing - Frankfurt - fine
- Luxembourg passport - fine
- Your stay - within the 144 hours visa free transit frame - fine

You are fine and you really don't need any kind of visa at all.
