About:China Transit Visa

Nepalese transitting in shanghai for 10 hours

Hi there, Nepalese guy here.
Do i need a transit G visa if im transitting in Pudong airport for 11 hours and wish to tour around the city?
or do i get visa on arrival?
my travel agent said i may need a visa but he was unsure himself but ur website here said most countries can get TWOV bar a few countries like afghanistan and saudi arabia etc.

From your post, its is understandable only that you plan to transit in Shanghai Pudong airport, but you did not mention from where are you flying to Shanghai and also where are you going after Shanghai. In case that you arrive in Shanghai from,let's say, India and proceed from Shangahi to, let's say, South Korea and that your transit time is less than 24 hours, then you are perfectly qualified for 24 hours via free travel.

In order to be allowed to exit the airport you have to apply for entry permit upon your visa free arrival in Shanghai and you should keep in mind that this permit is at absolute discretion of Chinese immigration official.
