About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Malaysian Passport TWOV Visa

Hi, I am a Malaysian passport holder. I am taking flight from Vancouver (Canada) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) via Beijing with a 12-hour layover. I am planning to get a transit hotel outside Beijing Airport, am I eligible for TWOV visa and leave the airport?

Yes, you are eligible for 24 hours visa free transit (TWOV), but in order to obtain entry permit, you will have to print out your onward flight ticket and also accommodation booking confirmation and show that at the counter where you will almost certainly be allowed to exit the airport especially in case that your layover is during the night hours and, as already mentioned, that you have your hotel booking done before your arrival in Beijing.
