Does China offer multiple entry Z visas

A Chinese college invited me to teach 15 days and sent me a letter to apply for a 30 day single entry Z visa. After I arrive I have a conference to attend for 3 days outside of China and then I return to finish the course. Does China offer multiple entry Z visas to accommodate this?

Alan, usually Z visa only has one entry. I advise you to apply for a double-entry F visa instead.

Txs for your reply. It's a great suggestion but will the consulate issue an F if the letter says it's to apply for a work z visa?
