Malaysian and will be travelling to Malaysia via Hong Kong with an emergency travel document

Hello I am Malaysian and will be traveling back to Malaysia via Hong Kong using an emergency travel document. My questions are could I have an overnight layover in Hong Kong and do I need a transit visa since my travel document is not at ICAO standard?

Dear, I personally think you don't need the visa as your travel documents certifies your nationality as a Malaysian who can enjoy free transit in Hong Kong.
