About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Indonesian citizen with return flights from Bali to Los Angeles via Guangzhou - Do I need visa?

Hi
I am an Indonesian citizen who will be flying to Los Angeles in June 2019 via Guangzhou. Do I need to apply for a visa or can the 24h visa free applied to me? And can I use the visa free to go out and see Guangzhou/city tour?

In case that the number of hours spent in China from your scheduled arrival in China until your scheduled departure from the country is less than 24 hours, you are perfectly within the 24 hours visa free transit frames and you don't need any kind of visa. Whether you will be allowed to exit the airport is upon discretion of border authorities. In case that your waiting time is during the night, your accommodation booking would definitely increase your chances to be allowed to exit the airport. Take all the necessary documentation with you in printed form.
