Malaysian can grant 24 hour free transit Visa

Hi, I am Malaysian travelling to LA with AirChina and transit in Beijing. I have 8 hours layoff and would like to have quick visit to Great Wall of China. Am I qualify for 24 hour visa free? should I apply at Beijing immigration or earlier at my home country.
