About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

0:15 flight

Hi,
Am I eligible for the 144h transit if I land on Saturday at 7pm, so the countdown start at midnight sunday, and my flight to leave shangai is at 0:15 on friday? of course i will be in the airport/plane when midnight strikes...

Thank you,
Alba

Immigration is staffed as long as there are international flights which is basically 24/7 in major airports. As long as you are qualified for the free transit policy, you can get the free transit at the immigration upon arrival.

Hi, I actually meant that the flight im taking to leave shangai leaves at 0:15, 15mns after the 144h /6 days limit. I was wondering if it would work since its only 15mns and I would be in the plane anyway or if it's strictly from the time the plane takes off?

Thanks

The duration of stay does start from the day after the day of entry but in your case it's 15 minutes over. Change your flights or get a visa.

It's fine. You have to leave by 23:59 on Friday.
