About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling from US to Malaysia via Beijing

Hi, we are travelling from NJ, US to KL, MY via Beijing and have a stop over for 5 days. We are US citizens. Are we eligible for Transit Visa? We are arriving on July 4th at 4 PM and leaving on July 9th 2 am to Kuala Lumpur.
If we are eligible, what are the necessary steps we need to take before travelling?

Yes, if Beijing is your only stop in Mainland China. You will fill out a form at immigration and provide a copy of your flight itinerary with your ticket number on it. Immigration may also ask to see proof of accommodation.

Usually, you can get the result within ten minutes if only few people are waiting there.
