Air China Shanghai to Johannesburg flight via transit in Shenzen

On April 23 this year I will be flying on Air China CA1893 from Shanghai to Johannesburg, with a compulsory 14 hour transit in Shenzhen as my onward flight only departs at 00.50 am. Will I be allowed to leave the airport to spend the day in Shenzhen on a 24 hour free entry visa? I am travelling on a South African passport.

Maybe you can get 24h twov if the layover in China is no more than 24 hours. You are advised to contact the immigration to confirm it beforehand.
