About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am starting a holiday with 3 days in Shanghai then leaving on a cruise to Japan returning to Shang

Starting holiday with 3 days in Shanghai then going to Japan. Then returning to Shanghai for 36 hours before leaving to fly back to the UK. Do I need a visa for the split time in Shanghai?

No visa needed as long as your flights between the UK and Shanghai do not stop elsewhere in China. You can do 144 hour transit to Japan and a second 144 hours on the way home from Japan
