About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for the 24-Hour TWOV, with a multi stop flight in China on my way to Rome

I'm a New Zealander traveling from Sydney to Rome - my China Southern Air flight stops in Guangzhou and then Wuhan - I'll be in China for less than 9 hours, with no intention of leaving the airport. I'm hearing mixed reports on whether I qualify for the 24-Hour TWOV. My travel agent thinks I should apply for a visa to be on the safe, but would rather avoid this if possible? Neither the airline or the Visa agent in Sydney are able to give me a firm answer.

Brilliant - thanks so much. I had seen an article that advised 'Transit including multiple stops within China is permitted at Guangzhou only when the first transit point is Beijing'.
Not quite sure why? We land in Guangzhou first for 4 hours, then fly to Wuhan to refuel for 2 hours, then go on to Rome - so wanted check if that is allowed under the 24 hour TWOV.

Your trip is allowed under the 24 hour TWOV. If you are still worried, you can contact the Guangzhou immigration counter to confirm it beforehand.
