About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Do I have enough time to see the gardens around the airport?

I am traveling from Dubai to Vancouver via Beijing. I have 3 hours and 50 minutes on the ground in Beijing. I would like to see a little bit of China as I have never been there. Is there enough time to leave the terminal and look around the gardens surrounding the airport? I know it's not much, I would like to be able to say that I've stepped foot on Chinese soil, and not just transferred in the airport. Thanks for your help.

I am the original poster. I did have enough time. At the 144 hour transit visa station, they were hesitant, but they let me go out. I saw a tiny bit and found a geocache. I was back in at the gate in plenty of time for my next flight.

No that's not long enough Beijing is a very busy delay prone airport. You would likely be denied the entry permit anyways on that short of a transit.
