About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is the 72 hour TWOV available when arriving by train into Guangzhou?

I am travelling across to the Canton fair in April and will only be in Guangzhou for 72 hours or so, will I need a Visa for China or can I make use of the 72 TWOV facility. I will be travelling from Hong Kong by train and have a UK passport.

You need a visa. 72 hours transit without visa doesn't apply to travel by rail to Guangzhou (and furthermore, if you're returning to Hong Kong you're not even in transit anyway).
