About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

USA>Moscow>Ulaanbaator>Beijing>USA

Hello,
I'm trying to get clarification on the 144 hr Transit free. I am a US citizen and will be travelling to the below:

Depart from NYC, USA
Destination #1: Moscow, Russia
Destination #2: Ulaanbaator, Mongolia
Destination #3: Beijing, China (for 3 nights)
Destination #4: Return home to Atlanta, GA, USA

Would I qualify for the 144 hr transit free for my Beijing stop since my next destination after China would be returning to my home country?

Mongolia - China - USA is ok for the 144h twov (it's not a transit visa) as long as you fly fro mMongolia to China.
If you take the train you will need a visa.
