About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need VISA's?

We're arriving on a Celebrity cruise ship in Shanghai and leaving Shanghai approx 60 hrs later via the main Shanghai airport. Do we need VISA's or can we apply for the 144 hour free transit?

Well, it depends on your stops before and after Shanghai, and on your passport. Nobody can give you the correct advice without that information.

No stops other than Shanghai. Just sightseeing in Shanghai. USA passport

Junebug is asking your stops BEFORE and AFTER Shanghai, not what you want to do in Shanghai. No one can answer your question without that piece of information.

Stop prior to Shanghai is So. Korea. Flying back to USA after Shanghai.
