hi, we are planning to visit macau, we are philippine passport holder..could we rent a hotel outside

we are philippine passport holder..could we rent a hotel outside macau?or we must stay at macau area only to spend a night in a hotel?and is it ok if we cross to hongkong and plan to stay there for 2 days and come back to macau the next day since our flight back to the Philippines is via macau.. your help is much appreciated
