Flying from Barcelona to Tokyo via Shanghai

We're travelling from Barcelona to Tokyo and we have stop at Shanghai Pu Dong for only 4 hours to take another plane to Tokyo. Do we need a temporary 144 visa if we're only changing planes?
Thank you!
