You should first get them notarized by the local notary public and the Secretary of State or Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country(some states also require that the documents need to be notarized by County Clerk); and then go to the embassy of China to get that attested; the required documents include your passport and its copy, the application form for attestation, and your education degree and the background check and the copy.
