About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Beijing Visa. Can I qualify for the 72 or 144 hr Visa?

Hello, I am US Citizen coming from Seattle, WA wanting to visit Beijing for two days then flying out to Hanoi, Vietnam. If so, is there anything I need to do before arriving in Beijing? Could I make a reservation to stay in Beijing ahead of time or do I need to wait until I get there?

You will want to book a hotel before leaving. Nothing else to do in advance but maybe print out a copy of the confirmation email or e-ticket receipt showing the 16 digit ticket number in case anyone wants to see it. As long as Beijing is the only mainland china landing on the way to Vietnam, just tell airline check in that you are doing the 144 hour visa free transit. Then once you get to Beijing visit the fingerprint kiosk and the visa free transit desk and fill out the blue form to apply for the entry permit. There will also be a yellow form to fill out which should be provided on the plane or pick one up at the airport.
