About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Can travel to Shanghai for 4.5 days fall within the 144 hour visa free transit?

I'm travelling to Shanghai for a conference. I'll be flying Sydney, Shanghai and returning to Sydney. Would this be regarding as a free transit?

Sydney, Shanghai and returning to Sydney is not a transit, so you need a visa for the trip.
