About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Costa Venezia April 2019 Shenzhen Port Visit / Visa

After three phone calls to costa , many e mails to the Chinese visa centre and a number of calls to IGLU
Travel , I have eventually received the following e mail reply from Costa Cruises who I have been informed have contacted immigration in China


Dear Mr Varney
Regarding your enquiry re cruise on Costa Venezia departing on 13th April from Singapore
And the vessel docking at Shenzhen in China on 23rd April
Costa can confirm the following ;
At Singapore passengers can embark onto the cruise after signing a declaration that ;
A visa is NOT required if the
- passenger do not go on shore from the vessel in Shenzhen

- If there is an emergency situation the passenger will have to disembark

- in case of an emergency disembarkation pin Shenzhen passengers will be responsible to pay all Immigration expenses by himself.

Shenzhen's Shekou terminal offers visa on arrival service for ferry passengers arriving from HK/Macau so you should be able to get one as well if you will be going through immigration in the same building as those ferry passengers. They do have a long lunch break from 12pm and won't be back until 2pm though.
