About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Trip from JFK (USA) -Beijing transit-Tokyo (Japan) with US passport

My passport till 2021 and I arrive at PEK Beijing on March 27 at 18:40 and my flight next day on March 28 at 17:20 to Tokyo (Japan) and I planning to stay at Qianmen Hotel for 1 night and going to Forbidden City.
Can I get 72 hours free transit?
