About:China Tourist Visa

Do I have to go personally to Chinese consulate for visa application? And what happens to to travel

Hi am south african wanting to visit China for 2 weeks. Do I have to go personally to Chinese consulate for visa or can it be done online? I have to purchase my travel ticket before my application so what happens to the ticket or tour if entry permit is denied?

You are supposed to apply in person. You don't have to pay for the reservation before you get the visa.
