About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I Qualify? My family of 5 ( US citizens)

will be traveling from JFK: New York to Shanghai (PVG) for 4 hour layover ( staying in the airport) then to Beijing ( PEK) . Planning to stay in Beijing for 3 nights ( to book your tour) .. then flying to Cebu Philippines .. on our return flight to the US .. it’s Cebu- Shanghai (PVG) with a 10 hr. Layover - New York ( JFK ) .. do we qualify for a free transit visit in Beijing ? Also if we want to book a day tour in Shanghai , can we do that with the 24 HR. Free transit as well ?

All 5 of you need visas or different flights. Two or more stops in Mainland China limit your transit time to 24 hours in the country regardless of whether you leave the airport in Shanghai. Hope you have not made the booking yet as flight change fees for 5 tickets can be expensive, and so are 5 visas which will set you back more than $700 total.
