About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I want to go to Shenzen from Hong Kong on day trip, sometimes in March 2019. Does 24hr free visa apply to me or do i need to apply for visa?

No, as you are not in transit. Also TWOVs do not apply at most land borders, including Shenzhen.
