About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

Expired passport on january 2019 no visa in china

And im working here for more than 2years. Without intension of going back soon yet. What should i do? Can i renew my passport? Or i can just handle this someday when im ready to go back home. Paying the 10k¥ is not a problem. The detention,maybe. Haha.

You are supposed to report your situation to the local police station, and then pay the fine CNY500 per day for overstaying; the capped amount won’t exceed CNY10,000. Then, you can ask if you can renew your passport.

You are intentionally overstaying in a foreign country to work illegally. That is a red flag for any embassy or consulate in China, many of which will not renew passports for persons who broke immigration laws during their stays and have not settled their legal problems with Chinese authorities. So a "helpful" advice is don't even think about presenting yourself to any official, including your own country's. Good luck not getting caught, heard they have detentions for up to 6 months for the likes of you.

Haha that is a much better reply. Telling me to stay away from officials. Rather than giving my self up like what Hale from Finland said. So this means id just let it go for now,right? And worry about it later when i want to go back home. Really, detention is still a possibility even when i have money to pay for the fines?
